I was taught to swim my father at a very young age. I then joined Crawley swimming club with my sisters, where we regularly competed for the club.

I continued swimming till I was 17, when I left to go to college. I returned to swimming when I had my own children and we all competed in swimming and lifesaving competion.

I took up teaching and in 1996 Meryl and I formed Merlin swim school. I do seminars to keep up to date with teaching and still compete in Masters swim competion and I also do triathalons.
